Top female celeb named CEO of government body

She moved from music to law and now a top CEO in one of Kenya's most important commerce organizations.

Angela on Thursday announced the CEO of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI).

The organization, KNCCI is responsible for creating a unified and single voice for the private sector so s t influence the public policy, efficient service delivery as well as monitoring and evaluation of public sector programs and projects.

The KNCCI Chairman, Kiprono Kittony announced the organizations high expectations of Angela stating that they are confident in her appointment as she will ensure sustainable growth and enhanced service delivery to the business community.

“Angekla Ndambuki has a passion for advocacy issues and was instrumental in amending the copy right act 2001, Laws of Kenya in line with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Beijing Treaty on Audio- Visual Performances,” said Kiprono.

The wife and mother of two is also the founder of Performers Rights Society of Kenya (Prisk) an organization that is responsible for collecting and distributing royalties on behalf of artistes in the country.

Tattu, the band of three (Angela, Debbie Asila and Shinde) was popular back in 2003 for their hit songs such as Teso, Songea, Yu Wapi and Daima.

When the band broke up, Angela went on to pursue a Law Degree from the University of Nairobi before moving forth to getting her Masters Degree in Intellectual Property from the University of Edinburgh, she graduated last year November.

Angela also played a pivotal role in developing and finalizing the National Music Policy, which is a blueprint for coordinating and regulating the music Industry in Kenya.

She got married to one Roy Mutungi in 2011.
