She may have not succeeded in keeping her pregnancy a secret but she is determined to keep her son’s face hidden away from the public. This is for a good reason, she wants her son M to grow up as M and not as Avril’s son. She doesn’t want her son to be set for ‘unrealistic expectations’ simply because he is the son of a famous singer.

“I want M to have a simple life, without the pressure of being compared to or being set for unrealistic expectations because he is my son. When he is old enough and chooses the public light for himself, then that’s okay. Until then it’s a no for me,” Avril told Parent’s Magazine.

And she is so determined to keep M off the limelight that she is turning away lucrative deals to protect him.
“I’ve been approached for endorsement deals and I’ve had to turn them all down. Mind you, it’s a lot of money. However, if I’m signing a contract, I’m signing as Avril not as Avril and M, unless the corporate is comfortable with my son’s identity remaining anonymous,” She explained to the magazine.
