Media personality Caroline Mutoko has asked all political winners and losers to remove their campaign posters following the end of the election.
Through her twitter account, Ms. Mutoko called out politicians such as governor-elect Mike Sonko and his deputy governor-elect Polycarp Igathe to spearhead the process.
Nairobi governor-elect Mike Sonko, on Monday August 14, pledged to hire 1000 youth to help take down campaign posters within Nairobi city.
“The youth will give the city a fresh coat of paint, I promised to make Nairobi clean during my campaigns and this is my agenda before we form the county’s next government,” he said.
Boniface Mwangi was one of the first to start removing his posters after conceding defeat to Starehe MP-elect Charles Njagua otherwise known as Jaguar.
The constitution requires all campaign materials to be pulled down 48 hours after the end of the elections.
Nairobi governor-elect Mike Sonko's team began work on cleaning up the city as seen in the photos below.
