A college student in Kisumu is suspected to have been killed by her boyfriend after she ended the relationship.

Dorcas Jamilla was a first-year student at Kisumu Polytechnic where she was pursuing a course in procurement.
The suspect, 27-year-old man is said to have waylaid Jamilla and killed her at Riat along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway near her parents' home.
Witnesses told journalists they heard screams at the scene where Jamilla had been found lying unconscious.
Reports have indicated that the two had fallen out and had an altercation on social media.
Police investigation
Officers at Kondele Police Station said investigations into the gruesome murder of the 18-year-old student had commenced.
The DCI officer at the police station, Tom Simbiri said officers had spoken to mutual friends of Jamilla and the suspect and those found at the scene of the crime after the victim sent out a distress call.
Jamilla's mother, Isca Ouma said she had just arrived from Nairobi when she was met with the news of her daughter's brutal murder.
Ms Ouma said her daughter had informed her that the boyfriend was disturbing her and interfering with her studies.
The mother said she had warned the man against seeing her daughter and even traced the suspect's parents and told them about what had been transpiring.
