The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji on Friday ordered for his arrest to face corruption charges alongside his wife Susan Ndun'gu and other Kiambu County officials.
According to his lawyer Kipchumba Karori, The Kiambu governor has been out of town since Friday, when his arrest was ordered.
Detectives launched a manhunt for Kiambu Governor, his wife Susan Wangari Ndungu and twelve others for allegedly misappropriating public funds amounting to Sh588 Million on Saturday morning.
The twelve include Lucas Wahinya (chief officer roads, Kiambu County), and tender evaluation committee members Zakary Njenga Mbugua, Joyce Musyoka, Simon Kabocho, Anselm Gachukia, and Samuel Muigai.
Others are Charles Chege, and Beth Wangeci, who are directors of Testimony Enterprises Ltd.
A search party for Waititu’s wife and five others is on going.
