Makueni man who was caught on camera brutally beating up his wife on Friday pleaded guilty to the charges levelled against him.
David Nzomo, who appeared before a Makueni court, is set to be sentenced next week Wednesday following his confession.
The court further directed that Nzomo be detained at Wote police station until the next hearing.

In the video, Nzomo was caught brutally kicking and slapping his helpless wife identified as Winifred Mwende.

Luckily, Mwende was rescued by her in-laws who rushed her to Makueni Level Four Referral Hospital, where she is recuperating.
It is said that the beating started after Nzomo received a phone call implicating Mwende of being unfaithful to him.
The 35-year-old woman has since received aid from Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Margaret Kobia, who promised that she will be enrolled in a government financial programme.
“We will link the survivor with the socio-economic empowerment programme in my ministry will ensure that she is economically empowered,” said Prof Kobia.
