In a significant move aimed at advancing Kenya's agricultural interests on the global stage, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by his spouse, Pastor Dorcas, has embarked on an official visit to Belgium and Germany.

The primary focus of the visit is Deputy President Gachagua's representation of President William Ruto at the Global Gateway Forum hosted by the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.

This prestigious event provides a platform for engaging with international stakeholders and discussing key global issues.

In addition to his diplomatic duties, Deputy President Gachagua has a robust agenda concerning Kenya's agricultural exports.

In Brussels, he is set to hold talks with prominent coffee and tea buyers and marketers. The aim is to explore opportunities for expanding the global market for Kenyan farmers, ensuring they receive fair recognition and remuneration for their produce.

The journey will then take Deputy President Gachagua to Germany, where discussions will continue with leading coffee buyers.

The focus will be on establishing collaborative efforts to revitalize and enhance the coffee sub-sector in Kenya.

This includes exploring potential avenues for cooperation and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Deputy President Gachagua expressed the administration's unwavering commitment to uplifting smallholder farmers, particularly in the coffee, tea, and milk subsectors.

The goal is to enhance the dignity of these farmers and contribute to the overall prosperity of the nation.
