Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of the two rugby players accused of raping local musician Wendy Kemunto.
Kemunto had accused Harlequins rugby players Frank Wanyama and Alex Olaba of raping her on her birthday on February 10.
Narrating the horrific ordeal in a series of Instagram posts, Kemunto revealed that she was pregnant as a result of the rape.
She claimed that one of the players had lured her into his home after a night out after which the two went on to assault her.
“I was slipping in and out of consciousness maybe due to shock, but I was helpless. I couldn’t fight two men who play rugby professionally. Obviously they were stronger, hence I let them do whatever they wanted to do the whole night,” she had earlier revealed.
Kemunto's story went viral with many calling for justice for the singer while others doubted the rape claims.
The two rugby players, in a statement recorded at Kilimani Police Station, had denied Kemunto's accusations claiming that the sex was consensual.
