Mr. Tarus was sent home following recommendations by Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji that he be prosecuted in a court of law.

He is among top managers at the energy firm currently under arrest over corruption-related charges.

Tarus sacking comes after a crisis meeting held on Monday morning to replace for the top managers being prosecuted.

The board of Kenya Power assured Kenyans that operations will not be affected after the arrest of the top heads.

"The board wishes to reassure members of the public, customers, shareholders, development partners and other stakeholders that operations of the business have not and will not be affected,” the chairman Mahboub Maalim said.
