Turkish Airlines jet carrying 107 passengers from Nairobi to Cairo has been forced to make an emergency landing in Khartoum, Sudan.
“Turkish Airlines flight 606 made an emergency landing after a passenger on board said he received an email saying there was a bomb on board,” civil aviation authority spokesman Abdelhafiz Abdelrahim told reporters.
The plane was cordoned off but nothing untoward was found after investigation by security officials.
Reports say a British passenger received an email of the imminent threat and showed the crew.
The passenger is allegedly under investigation.
Fortunately, all 107 passengers are reported safe and sound.
