Nairobi governor-elect Mike Sonko has warned Evans Kidero against withdrawing county funds and entering into contracts with any third party in regards to Nairobi County resources.
The governor-elect has also warned Kidero against removing materials from City Hall.
He also wants Kidero to appoint three transition committee members while he appoints three other members that will help assist in the transition of handing over power to the governor-elect.
Sonko has further threatened to file a suit in court lest Kidero defies his orders.
“Please liaise with us in the meeting of the foregoing objectives to enable us secure the best interests of the residents of the Nairobi City County and note further that our client has instructed that in default of your responses by the close of business August 15, 2017, we have instructions to seek legal redress,” reads a letter addressed to Evans Kidero seen by Citizen Digital.
In the letter, Sonko emphasises on the need to not only maintain accurate and proper records of the county government but also to ensure the prevention of the collapse of services.
