Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga is set to face a legal battle after a resident moved to court challenging his recent decision.
Benson Njuki on Monday filed a case objecting Mr Kahiga’s nomination of Caroline Karugu as his Deputy Governor.
"Unlawful nomination"
Mr. Njuki claims that the Governor made the nomination unlawfully.
Kahiga became Nyeri Governor after the tragic death of Wahome Gakuru, Nyeri's former Governor, during a road accident near Kabati along the Thika-Murang’a highway.
