The Siaya County administration has announced vacancies in the county Public Service Board after the chair of the board was summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Chairperson Joe Donde, who is also former Gem MP, was scheduled to appear before the EACC in connection to irregular hiring practices.
The Siaya government published an advert for the position in the local dailies along with five other vacancies for members of the board.

EACC summoned the former legislator over allegations of irregular recruitment practices.
Investigations had indicated that Donde's team had approved the employment of some county workers who did not have the proper academic qualifications.
Siaya County Assembly approved
The former legislator and his team are also said to have approved the awarding of salaries that were against the prescribed guidelines.
Donde has served in the county PSB together with the current members since 2013.

His appointment and subsequent county assembly vetting of the former legislator raised a number of issues that were never addressed.
