Raila, Uhuru Nyanza tour set for next week suffers setback

The tour was to begin next week

Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of opposition stronghold Nyanza set for next week, has suffered a setback.

According to Daily nation, the planned visit has been put on hold to allow for further consultations on emerging issues threatening the agreement between Raila and Uhuru.

Reports indicate that Odinga allies have begun questioning Jubilee’s commitment to the Harambee House deal after National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale ruled out any possibility of talks on electoral reforms and restructuring of the country’s executive which have been top on the opposition’s agenda.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition Chief Raila Odinga were expected to have an extensive tour of the Nyanza region after their historic peace agreement at Harambee House that followed months of political unrest across the country after the August 8 elections.
