The DP will pitch tent in Western on Sunday in what analyst opine is a move in response to Gideon Moi’s charm offensive.

He will be accompanied by a host of MPs including National Assembly Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali

Washiali onfirmed the purpose of the visit, stating that “I can confirm that indeed the DP will attend the church function as earlier planned, a host of MPs including myself have also been invited and will be accompanying Mr Ruto” .

“He is coming to ask locals to support his 2022 presidential bid and stand with the church at the same time.” He added.

He however disputed the narrative that the DP’s visit is informed by Moi’s last week visit that caused jitters in DP Ruto’s camp.

“It is not true that Ruto is coming to undo what Kanu chairman and Baringo senator Gideon Moi did last week during his two-day tour of the region, the DP is not competing with in any one in initiating development projects,” he clarified.

According to him,the visit was planned much earlier and the DP will simply be fulfilling his pledge to attend the fund raiser.
