Thousands of Kenyans fill up Kasarani stadium ahead of Uhuru's swearing in ceremony

Gates were open as early as 4 a.m.

Thousands of Kenyans have started filling up the Kasarani stadium which is the venue for President Uhuru Kenyatta's swearing ceremony.

Kenyans from all walks of life started streaming to the stadium as early as 4 a.m. when the gates were opened.

Government officials said they expect over 100,000 people to grace the historic event but only 60,000 will be accommodated inside the stadium. The rest will watch events as they unfold outside via large TV screens.

President Kenyatta is expected to be sworn in for a second and final term at the ceremony set to start at 10a.m. local time.
