Samsung unveils Galaxy Grand Prime Pro (2018) smartphone targeting entry level smartphone users

The new Grand Prime Pro (2018) improves on the design of the Grand Prime Plus and J3 2016, by offering a more premium body with a curved back, reduced bezel and minimal camera protrusion.

In an elaborate ceremony on Thursday, Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand Prime Pro (2018) 4G smartphone in the Kenyan market.

“As Samsung we continue to listen to our consumers, understand their needs and invest in our research and development in order to continue innovating“ Patricia King’ori, Head of Marketing, Citizenship & Public Relations beamed as she proudly unveiled the gadget.

“ Samsung Grand Pro 2018  gives us an opportunity  to reach out to the consumers  who are looking  at affordable  phone  with functionality  and style  incorporated  together “ she said.

It comes with both front and rear cameras allowing consumers to easily take brighter and crisper photos and selfies even in low light conditions.

Samsung is betting on the new kid to steer the company clear from growing competition in the smartphone market.

“The performances of the devices within the segment will enable Samsung retain market leadership in the midst of growing competition from new entrants in this segment” Ms. King’ori said.

Some of the features which stand out in the Grand Prime Pro includes; Smart Wi-Fi which automatically switch on and off when entering and exiting  frequently used hotspots which will ensure durability of the battery life as the feature will stop the phone sapping the battery  searching for non-existent hotspot.

Grand Prime Pro consumers will also be able to duplicate messenger apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Skype etc. with dual messenger so one can have one account for work and another one for family and friends making their lives much more simpler and efficient.

Should they lose their treasured Grand Prime Pro by any chance they can at least rest easy and not worry sick about their private information, photos, documents and voice recording files because Samsung’s secure folder enables users to create a private and fully encrypted space with an additional layer of protection they can only access.

Ryan Mule, Samsung Electronics East Africa product manager said consumers would not be disappointed by the new kid on the block.

“What we continuously aim for is that high level of quality, consistent level of performance and classic designs and that is what the Grand Prime Pro is able to do”

“So we want to aim for inclusivity across the entire product range, whether you are buying a phone at Sh14999 or whether you are buying a phone as expensive as Sh100,999, all our consumers are assured of the same level of unrivalled quality”

Grand Prime Pro will be retailing at Sh14,999 ($150) and will be available countrywide at Samsung brand stores and authorized dealers.
