His exit from Royal media was rocked with controversy after it was alleged that he was at the center of the recent fights between Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.

Salim was reportedly used by Governor Sonko to fix the Interior PS by recording him saying negative things about the Nairobi governor.

Swaleh started his journey in the media industry way back in January 2008 and worked as a Radio Presenter at Sauti ya Mwananchi radio until January 2009.

In March 2016, he joined Citizen TV as a Swahili news anchor and Editor, until June 7th 2018.
