President Uhuru Kenyatta asked Chief Justice David Maraga to consider taking up offices at KICC for the president of the Court of Appeal.
Uhuru made the offer on Thursday during the unveiling of the State of Judiciary Report where he asked Maraga to consider moving to the offices which had been vacated by the Senate.

"We had a chat and the office of the President of the Court of Appeal and if this office is anything to go by I wonder how the rest of your offices are," President Kenyatta stated.

"I did make an offer to the Chief Justice... there are decent offices here at KICC which we can avail to you, which I think are better than what you are occupying currently," he added.
Dilapidated offices
The Head of State cheekily remarked how the KICC offices would be suitable and the judiciary staff wouldn't need to look out before they visited the washrooms.
President Kenyatta made the remarks after he was informed on the dilapidated state of the Judiciary's offices.

He further stated that he was consulting with Parliament to ensure that funds for the new Judiciary offices are approved.
Four years ago, Court of Appeal judges rejected the new premises in Upper Hill, Nairobi but the Judiciary found suitable land for the proposed building.
Rejected offices
Judges of the Court of Appeal were to move to Elgon Place in 2013, but they refused, arguing that the building was emitting radioactive material, which could be harmful to their health.
The building remained unoccupied for a while as the judges debated about possible radioactive material.

Documents tabled before Parliament showed that the Judiciary paid more than Sh70 million for the premises that were never occupied.
While the judges debated whether to move in, the Judiciary called in the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) to give an independent opinion which ruled out radiation as a reason for non-occupation of the building.
