Among other gangs that have been alleged to be running the show is Mungiki, 42 Brothers and Gaza gang.

So dire is the situation that residents declined to speak on camera for fear of retaliation from the criminal gangs.

A terrified resident disclosed to Citizen TV that “This week one major incident has been reported that is yesterday. However on other days, people get robbed assaulted and cut to pieces.”

Among towns affected by the surge in crime are Kabati town, Kandara, Kiharu and Mukuyu constituencies.

The Mungiki terror gang made headlines a few years ago, butchering its victims and extorting money from the public.
