National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has sent a special message to Kenyans ahead of his arrival to the country on Friday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a video recording, Mr. Odinga gave an update of his trip to the US noting that it was successful.
The former Prime Minister indicated that his tour allowed him to articulate some of the grievances the country was facing.
First on his list was the just concluded August 8 General Election which he described as bungled to favor certain individuals.
"I am very happy to talk to you. I have been in the US for the last ten days I have had the opportunity to meet the leaders in the state department, the Congress and at the Institute of Strategic Studies.
"I have met with American professionals and businessmen. I have briefed them about the situation at home, the kind of challenges we are facing following the bungled presidential elections," he said.
He added that the individuals he met gave him hope that Kenya would come out stronger because of the friends it has.
"It seems as if there is a lot of interest in Kenya out here. We have a lot of friends in the United States. So I am happy with what I have seen here," Odinga noted.
He added that he was also happy to come back home stating: "I look forward to returning tomorrow on Friday to meet with my fellow Kenyans. Thank you very much,” he concluded".
The Opposition leaders have organized a grand event for Mr. Odinga and urged their supporters to troop to the JKIA to welcome him.
However, the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet warned against such a procession highlighting that it was a security threat.
