Kenya named world's leading safari destination yet again

Kenya has scooped the award for the 4th time in five years

Kenya has yet again been voted as the world's leading safari destination in this year's World Travel Awards.

Kenya overcame fierce competition from other African safari destinations such as South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda and Zimbabwe to emerge during the December 10 event held at JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Hotel in Vietnam.

It is the fourth time the country is receiving the accolade having bagged the award last year, 2015 and 2013.

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) chairman Jimi Kariuki termed the global award win as a great honour to Kenya’s safari offering while adding that the country plays host to some of the best safari hotspots such as the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Amboseli National Park .
