In the TV series 'Tausi', Sabina Chege portrayed the character Rehema, who had a strained relationship with her sister.

Tausi castmates reunite to honour late producer Kibwana Onguso

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabian Chege joined her fellow 'Tausi' cast members for a heartwarming reunion to celebrate and honor the memory of their late producer, Kibwana Onguso.

According to Sabina's Facebook post on October 24, the reunion brought together legendary actors from the popular Kenyan TV drama series. Among the 11 actors present were Fosca, Peris Wambui, Dama, Eboso, Muhonja, Ramtu, Tall Man, Kisu, Sabina, Mponda, and Sango.

These actors shared their joy and camaraderie, creating a memorable evening filled with nostalgia.

Peris Wambui, who played the role of Bi Zuri expressed her gratitude for the heartwarming evening.

"My daughter in Tausi (Rehema). Thanks for making our evening fun - Tausi reunion. You are a blessing. Waah! Down memory lane." she wrote on Facebook on Tuesday morning.

The reunion was a reminder of the bonds formed during the production of 'Tausi' and the lasting impact the show had on both the actors and its viewers.

The decision to hold the reunion came in remembrance of Kibwana Onguso.

Kibwana Onguso passed away on Sunday, September 10, at the age of 59. His son discovered him unconscious in his bed in his Lucky Summer home.

Despite efforts to save his life, doctors pronounced him dead at around 11 a.m. His sudden passing marked the end of an era, leaving a void in the world of Kenyan television production.

The 'Tausi' castmates saw it as an opportunity to celebrate the life and work of their late producer.

Kibwana Onguso had made a name for himself from as far back as the 1990s. He was renowned as the man behind several popular TV shows, including 'Tausi', 'Tahamaki', 'Kisulisuli', and 'Nyundo Utosini'.

His creative talents and dedication soon led him to Royal Media Services' Citizen TV in the early 2000s, where he went on to produce hit shows such as 'Papa Shirandula' and 'Inspekta Mwala'.

Following his time at Citizen TV, Kibwana Onguso continued his work with K24 and Maisha Magic before venturing into independent content production. Throughout his career, he mentored many modern-day TV producers.

The reunion of the castmates in memory of Kibwana Onguso serves as a testament to the lasting impact he had on the entertainment industry and the fond memories he created through his work.

Airing from 1995 to the early 2000s, 'Tausi' captivated the hearts of Kenyan viewers who faithfully tuned in to follow the tale of Mzee Kasri, Siti, Rehema, Rukia, and their mother, Bi Zuri.

The once-household program aired every Sunday immediately after the presentation of the weather forecast on the 7 p.m. news bulletin.
