Studies show that if you come from a big family, you're less likely to get divorced.

Researchers from Ohio State University conducted a study of 57, 000 families over a period of 40 years and found that couples with siblings were more likely to stay married.

Each sibling reduces risk of divorce by about 2%, according to Reader's Digest.

While the siblings don't necessarily add security to your relationship, it couldn't hurt to have them.

Having siblings helped develop better communication and negotiation skills which are key to a marriage's success.

Since having many siblings requires one to deal with an additional number of people- this could go a long way in helping to deal with marriage as an adult.

There was no cause-and-effect between having fewer siblings and divorce.

Having many siblings showed a positive effect in marriages across multiple generations.

Growing up with many siblings leads to an individual learning to be considerate of other people's points of view and talking through problems.
