In honor of valentine’s month, why not learn how to make a gift card for your special someone. The idea is not only creative but also very unique in that it will break the monotony of buying a card in the stores which have pre-written words.

Perform Time

2 hours

Tools and Supplies needed

  • 1 large manila paper.
  • Pencil
  • Pair of scissors

Steps

  1. Cut the manila paper into three rectangular shapes with the following dimensions: 2 (7 x 7 cm) papers, 8 x 8 cm and 17x 14 cm.
  2. Fold your paper in half
  3. Draw a half heart along the fold with a pencil.
  4. Cut a half heart along the fold with scissors.
  5. Do this for the three small pieces (2 (7 x 7cm) and 8 x 8cm). It gets harder to cut with the diminishing size of the heart.
  6. Glue one edge of the smaller hearts that is the 7 x 7 cm pieces and stick them to the opposite sides of the 8 X 8 cm piece. They should look like three aligned hearts with the bigger one at the middle.
  7. Fold the 17 x 14 cm into two.
  8. Repeat the process of cutting out a heart.
  9. Fold the jointed hearts into half as a unit. They will naturally fold.
  10. Take the jointed hearts and glue the edges of the small hearts while folded. Just glue a little along the edges.
  11. Stick them to the interior of the big heart such that if you close and open the interior pops out.
  12. You can now pen words from your heart to the special someone on the card.
  13. It is better if you use different colours for the different hearts to make it more colorful.
