Vince Explains Why He Didn't Use His Idol on Survivor

Vince Moua was one of the most interesting cast members on Survivor: Island of the Idols , and its no wonder that host Jeff Probst previously named him as a player to look out for on this reason. Vince was fiercely proud of his Hmong heritage and ready to play hard, and he seemed to be playing a pretty good game. Going into episode three, Vince was aligned with the majority alliance on his tribe...until it all suddenly fell apart and he was voted outwith an idol in his pocket.

Vince Explains Why He Didn't Use His Idol

As Vince told Entertainment Weekly , his paranoia is what led him to not play his idol. "I was really conflicted if I should use it or not. And at the end of the day I thought I would just be way too paranoid and I told people to not be paranoid, so I didnt use it." he explained.

And it looks like fans can expect a new rush for the idol next episode, because Vince also revealed that his idol was taken from him to be replanted.

Viewers were also confused as to why the episode didn't show what happened when Vince came back from spending the night on the Island of the Idols with Boston Rob and Sandra, but he explained to Parade that while he lied to his tribe about what happened on the Island, he and Elizabeth made a secret pact to work together because she had also been on the Island.

Ultimately, Vince is most proud of the impact he's been able to make on the show: "Whats been the most rewarding are messages from little Laotian, Hmong, and southeast Asian kids saying, 'Its so wonderful to see someone who is from my community, somebody who looks and talks like me, someone who has the same experiences as me. Someone who doesnt fit stereotypes.' To hear that other people see themselves in me, which will hopefully encourage them to break out of anything that holds them back, its been incredibly fruitful."
