Working in the bank is perceived as prestigious and promotes a person’s status. When you tell people that you work in the bank, a certain kind of respect is accorded to you.

Well it is true that working in the bank comes with many advantages including a handsome pay.

So here are the best paying banks in Kenya:

1. Stanbic Bank

It is one of the best paying banks in Kenya. A majority of its employees are finance graduates especially those with Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Bachelor of Commerce and Statistics graduates can also work at the international bank whose Kenyan head office is located in Westlands Nairobi.

Graduates can find vacancies in positions such as graduate clerks, financial analyst and loan officers.

The starting salary is said to range between Sh70,000 to Sh90,000. Stanbic bank senior managers are said to be the highest paid in Kenya with a monthly salary of Sh2 million monthly.

2. Standard Chartered

It is an international bank whose headquarters are based in London, United Kingdom.

Standard Chartered offers favorable deals for fresh graduates. Tellers take home of Sh65,000 which is subject to be reviewed upwards. Sales executive pocket an estimate of Sh25,000 per month.

3. Commercial Bank of Africa

CBA, which is associated with the President Kenyatta’s family, is the bank which partners with Safaricom on M-Shwari. M-Shwari is a mobile money platform which allows Safaricom customers to save money or borrow loans through M-Pesa.

The bank is said to pay fresh graduates above Sh68,000 while branch managers take home above Sh150,000. The lowest paid sales executives are paid over Sh25,000.

4.  I&M

I&M is said to pay entry-level university graduates Sh56,000-65,000. The bank offers rewarding careers to its employees as well as competitive compensation. A human Resource Officer with over 2 years working experience takes home a monthly salary of Sh91,000 to Sh98,000.

5. Co-operative Bank

The bank is headquartered in Nairobi along Haile Selassie Avenue. The  Co-operative building is famous for withstanding the 1998 bombing of the US Embassy which was located just adjacent to it.

The bank pays graduate clerks Sh68,000 to Sh75,000 which is subject to increase based on appraisals from the seniors.
