Just to be clear, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not currently recommend wearing a face mask to protect yourself against coronavirus, unless you're showing signs of the virus, or are a healthcare worker.
What you should do: Wash your hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds after going to the bathroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing, the CDC says. Alternately, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol will work.
But, if you do decide to wear a mask to protect yourself against that or other forms of respiratory illnesses, its generally recommended by the CDC that you opt for an N95 mask. Kate was modeling what appears to be a surgical mask, which doesnt offer the same level of protection.
