Jubilee MPs have ganged up against the party’s Secretary general Raphael Tuju, mounting pressure on him to resign over claims that he is undermining Deputy President William Ruto.

The MPs led by Alice Wahome (Kandara), Laikipia Woman Rep Catharine Waruguru and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika faulted Tuju for causing confusion that has rocked the party and demanded that he resigns.

The legislators who were speaking at the Kitale ASK Showground singled him out as the person responsible for the continued wrangles within the party, saying he should quit the party and pave the way for new leadership that will steer the party to greater heights.

"He has betrayed a government we founded. There is a lot of confusion and division in Jubilee and the person responsible is Tuju. Let him resign," said Wahome.

On her part, Senator Kihika alleged that Tuju is colluding with outside parties to bring Jubilee on its knees, pointing out that he is behind the party’s problems.

She opined that the only solution to save party is by sacking the SG and urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to crack the whip on Tuju before it is too late.

"Tuju is responsible for the confusions in the party. He is out to finish JP and we are not going to allow it," said Kihika.

Her sentiments were supported by Waruguru and Aish Jumwa who pledged not to allow Tuju destroy the party by fanning divisions between the President and his deputy for political mileage.

"Tuju is out to finish JP and we are not going to allow anybody to destroy what we sacrificed a lot to build." Waruguru said.

"The dark forces working against Ruto will fail. We will rally behind him and ensure he ascends to power," said Jumwa.
