Gideon Moi to work with ODM leaders ahead of 2022
KANU leaders to join ODM in a tour of opposition strongholds and the country
To this end, a series of events are lined up in Rift Valley and opposition stronghold that will see the KANU machinery join hands with the opposition to neutralize Deputy President William Ruto’s influence in Rift Valley and boost the profile of the Moi.
Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ngeno disclosed plans to “to tour every part of Rift Valley and to tell the people that Gideon Moi will be on the ballot in 2022 so they should not be misled by anyone that only Ruto will be on the ballot”.
In a bid to build his national profile, Moi also conduct an extensive tour of the Coast region where he will be hosted by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.

KANU Secretary General Nick Salat divulged to The Star that an elaborate tour is underway to help Moi build a national profile and sell him as the best successor to President Kenyatta.
“After Mombasa, we will attend a church service in Nyeri or Muranga at a date to be announced next month. We believe our party leader is the best man to succeed Uhuru,” Salat said.
Moi is also expected to tour Nyanza region next month to show appreciation for the region after it endorsed Odinga’s decision to work with President Kenyatta.
The first KANU delegation led by Secretary General Nick Salat will this Sunday pitch camp in Siaya County at a church service.
They will be accompanied by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna where they are also expected to address the public.

West Pokot governor John Lonyangapuo however clarified that KANU will support President Uhuru Kenyatta for the remainder of his term in office but “will start to prepare itself to play a big role in 2022”.
The KANU game plan was confirmed by West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio, saying that “We believe Kanu’s future is bright that is why we have agreed to start marketing the party aggressively…We intend to build on these gains as we move to the next election”.
