NASA finally ends boycott
No resisting anymore
ODM Chairman, who is also the National Assembly Minority Leader, announced that NASA MPs would fully resume their parliamentary work which they have often absconded since the repeat elections.
Mbadi had in November stated that the NASA team believed the Office of the President to be vacant and would therefore not vet presidential nominees.
They have since stayed off the committees which vetted various presidential appointees including cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries, and ambassadors.
The NASA Minority Leader hinted that the deal between Kenyatta and Odinga will also be reflected in Parliament where the Opposition MPs will work with those in government.
“There will be no party alignments that I’m now Jubilee or NASA. We will be handling issues the way the parliamentary system should work. The House will oversight the Executive without being petty,” Mbadi stated.
He added that the agreement will help enrich the quality and objectivity of parliamentary debate.
