Meet the model using her deformed leg to her advantage

This basically means, be proud of being different. If you have a unique birthmark, scar or deformity, instead of hiding it, show it off, rock your ugly.

Many people have embraced their "being different", some owe it to Tyra while others simply decided they had had enough. One such lady is Berlange Presilus.

Berlange, who is originally from Haiti but now lives in Toronto, Canada has a port wine stain and prominent varicose veins on her right leg due to a rare disorder known as Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS) which cannot be treated but whose symptoms can be eased. She was born with a lump on her right leg that formed a mass of intertwined veins that got bigger as she grew up.

Berlange was teased and bullied for her leg throughout her childhood - people would say that her leg looked like it was about to fall off. For this reason, she resorted to hiding her leg by wearing long skirts, trousers and stockings. She says that she would look at fashion magazines and dream of being a model one day. Still, she went on to models for brands such as Mac, Samsung, Toys R US and Johnnie Walker, albeit, she avoided jobs that would expose her leg.

In 2016, she was called for a swim suit shoot job in Singapore and of course, she had to come clean to her agency about her condition. When asked why she did not let them know earlier, she said that she was afraid of rejection. After that revelation, she started getting less calls and that's when she decided that enough was enough.

Berlange decided to have a personal photo shoot showing off her deformed leg in a bid to encourage others to speak on their differences, and the shoot was nothing short of perfection.

She told SWNS,

"I feel great. I have discovered that I have magic and now, I'm ustoppable."

Now at 28, the model joins the leagues of people like Winnie Harlow, Diandra Forrest, Mama Cax to mentioned but a few, by breaking barriers in the modeling industry.

Berlange is an inspiration to many others out there like her, to rock their ugly.
