The main reason you’re having a hard time losing your belly fat
That little muffin top just never wants to leave you in peace and we tell you why.
No matter how much time you spend in the gym trying out different Abs workouts, that little muffin top just never wants to leave you in peace and we found an answer why.
The main reason why that pesky belly fat keeps clinging on to you is basically because of the type of fat around that area is basically really stubborn to get rid of.
“To put it simply: it’s more difficult to shift belly fat because it has a higher amount of fat cells that don’t respond as easily to the fat-breakdown process (lipolysis),” Dr. Luke James from the UK health insurance company Bupa told Cosmopolitan.

Let’s break it down a bit further. There are two types of body fat in the human body, that is, the alpha and beta cells.
The alpha cells are responsible for restricting blood flow to cells and stagnate the fat-burning process while the beta cells are responsible for increasing the blood flow and stimulating the fat-burning process.
In short if you have more alpha cells as compared to beta cells then that is the reason why your belly fat is being such a pain to get rid of.
“When you’re actively trying to lose fat, you may see changes on your legs, face, and arms first because these areas have more alpha cells,” but eventually, he says, your body will catch up. “With regular, intense exercise, an increased intake in protein and less sugar in your diet, you should start to notice a change after three months,” said Dr. James.
