Meet gorgeous Kenyan women in football (photos)

However, we are trying. I mean, teams like Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars have come a long way. But today, we want to shine the spotlight on Kenyan women in football. How often do these ladies get recognition? Rarely. Albeit, all that is changing, thanks to Kenyan Company, Urban Arena.

Urban Arena felt the need to create a platform where the younger generation of girl footballers can gain experience and exposure. They have created a tournament where they celebrate women and give them a platform to showcase their talent. The tournament is for youth (boys and girls) aged 13-23 years with winning teams in each category where the winner gets Kes 50,000/-

Speaking exclusively to Pulselive.co.ke, Eugene Kamau of Urban Arena said,

"A society is only as strong as its women. That’s why we are having the up-coming tournament, Urban Cup that will take place on 21st April at Impala Grounds. We want to celebrate the girls on the pitch, celebrate girls who have made us proud and rise for the ones who are yet to get their share of dreams."

Urban Arena, in collaboration with Kenyan photographer Cedric Nzaka created a stunning photo series to celebrate these women.

They are young, vibrant, beautiful, go-getters and an inspiration to many other young girls that dream of playing football.
