Too stylish

Box braid and cornrows are protective styles preferred by many black women because not only do they protect the hair, but they’re also easy to manage.

The beauty of cornrows is that there’s a myriad of styles to choose from, depending on the look you’re going for. You could go for jumbo cornrows or thin ones, a mix of big and small, try colored braids, updo or non-updo styles. It all boils down to your budget and how much time you want to spend at the salon as some styles are a little intricate and may require more time. Either way, the more styles you try, the better as you could end up finding your signature look when it comes to cornrows.

If you’re one to try out new styles, you should probably give the half bun half down cornrow style that’s pretty cute. For this style, as the name suggests, the hair is braided into add-on medium-thick braids half top bun braids and the rest of the hair is braided into downwards cornrows.

You can definitely get creative and add thin cornrows in between, use a colored braid or even add some beads to adorn the braids. For this style, jumbo or chunky braids are better so that you don’t end up looking like a teenager.
