Police reveals what they will do to Raila on Tuesday

What police will do to Raila during swearing-in revealed

Police Spokesperson Charles Owino spoke on the event which Attorney General Githu Muigai termed as treasonous.

Speaking to the Star, Mr. Owino divulged that though the police do not anticipate the former Prime Minister to commit any offense, persons found violating the law will be arrested.

"I don't have jurisdiction to comment on that. The Attorney General was clear...The AG is the chief adviser to the government and we work for the government. The AG has advised us on what the law provides for.

"Police enforce laws and regulations of the land. We respect Kenyans and what they do but if you commit an offense, we have to act within the law. If the law dictates that you have to be arrested then our hands are tied - we have to act within the law," Mr. Owino was quoted by the local paper as saying.

According to the report, a source at Vigilance House disclosed that police officers were ready to apprehend Mr. Odinga.

On Thursday, AG Muigai warned NASA against proceeding with plans to inaugurate Odinga as the People’s President.

Mr Muigai stated: “The swearing in of any person who was not announced as a winner by the IEBC is illegal and amounts to treason”
