Weston Hotel will not be spared – Sonko announces in early morning statement

"I will not mix friendship with work"

In a statement released on early Tuesday morning, Sonko stated that he would not mix his relationships with work.

He listed a number of properties that have been reported to sit on public land, including the governor’s own plot in Buru Buru which he has already given the approval to be repossessed.

“Even Weston; My Buru Buru Casurina cocobeach plot; Taj mall and many other buildings shall not be spared if found to be on riparian or public land,” Sonko’s statement read in part.

He also hit out at his Kiambu counterpart Ferdinand Waititu, whom he accused of interfering with Nairobi County matters.

“My good friend and colleague should concentrate on his county. He should know we don't mix friendship with work,” the Nairobi City boss added.

Sonko’s statement came at a time when Taj Mall owner Ramesh Gorasia has denied that Ruto has any shares or interest in the controversial building reportedly sitting on a road reserve along Outering Road.
