Sonko’s interesting response after scoring a D+
I accept it
A survey conducted by Tifa Research ranked Mr. Sonko at the last position among three counties that took part in the opinion rating.
Kisumu county under the leadership of Governor Anyang Nyong'o was at position one while Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was ranked position two.
Commenting on the poll’s results, Mr. Sonko dismissed the findings stating that the research firm had previously released findings indicating that it would be unlikely for him to be Nairobi’s Governor.
“Some poll that was done by Tifa, we were ranked number last. We accept that position, but don’t forget that the same Tifa conducted a poll and said I will not be governor and today I’m standing here as the governor of Nairobi,” he said.
Speaking during a press conference at City Hall on the progress made by the Nairobi Regeneration Committee, Mr. Sonko expressed confidence that Nairobi was headed in the right direction.
Also, the press briefing was tourism CS Najib Balala, who co-chairs the committee meant to regenerate Nairobi in six months.
Mr. Balala promised Nairobians that a major transformation was coming to the city in the next six months.
"We can promise you in the next six months come December you will see a major transformation in Nairobi.
"You need to be patient you need to give us time and that perception that Nairobi county is not working is not true, we have worked with them and I can tell you it’s not easy to deliver all these challenges you have seen have been there for 30 years and cannot be resolved overnight,” Balala said.
