Diamond Platinumz expected in court today to answer to drug trafficking allegations

Tanzanian celebs are feeling the heat as police crack down drug trafficking

Diamond is set to appear in court today.

This comes just a day after his ex girlfriend, Tanzanian actress Wema Sepetu was arrested and marched to the police station to answer for the same allegations.

According to Tanzanian local reports, there are more than 10 other suspects being investigated over drug trafficking in Tanzania. They include, Ray C, TID, Dogo Hamidu and Babuu wa Kitaa amongst others.

Over the years, Tanzania has been known as a transit country for illicit drugs to all around the world, ranking as one of the top countries in the drug trafficking business. A report done last year by the United States Department  says that, “Tanzania is a significant transit country for illicit drugs, most notably heroin originating in Afghanistan and cocaine from South America, with a growing domestic user population. Tanzanian drug trafficking organizations and courier networks operate globally with cells throughout Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and South America. These Tanzanian drug trafficking organizations play a prominent role in the Southwest Asian heroin trade. Tanzania also produces cannabis both for domestic consumption and international distribution.”

Could these famous celebrities be the culprits?

Just last week, Diamond who calls himself the Rolls Royce Musician  took to his social media pages to flaunt a new white Rolls Royce with a customized number plate written Simba. He is known for his major success in the music industry that has sky rocketed over the past few years. Diamond also released a new single, Marry You, last week featuring International pop star Ne-yo.

According to  Dar es Salam Provincial Commissioner Paul Makonda, the search started on 3rd February and 5 suspects are allegedly behind bars pending investigation.
