Details of meetings by Cenral Kenya leaders to scuttle Ruto's 2022 bid

To this effect, a series of meetings have been held as the quest to bar Ruto from ascending to power gathers momentum. The initiative is being pushed by politicians who lost in last year’s general elections and who blame the DP for their losses.
An expose by The Star Newspaper reveals that powerful forces have conspired to derail Rutos 2022 bid and are now bringing on board leaders from other regions including his own Rift Valley backyard to scuttle his bid with the 'stop Ruto movement' gaining momentum.

They have been joined by a group of influential businessmen who feel that their businesses and interests may not be catered for under a Ruto Presidency.
A source linked to former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo revealed to the paper that a meeting was held at a home of one of the members and "the resolutions of the meeting were communicated to those who did not attend. They were also informed about their roles”.
Also targeted are leaders believed to be allied to the DP and who are believed to have benefited greatly from Rutos influence.
A source privy to the details revealed that the plot is almost sure to succeed as it is driven by people who are "are moneyed, they have strong grassroots support and understand Mount Kenya political dynamics".
Nairobi governor Mike Sonko recently raised an alarm over a plot by Jubilee leaders to scuttle Ruto's 2022 bid, linking Karanja Kibicho to the plot.
Political annalyst Herman Manyora however opines that no one should write off the DP as he is equal to the challenge and has begun readying his forces for 2022.
"Being a shrewd politician, Ruto is aligning his campaigns to respond to the needs for different kinds of geography. He understands Mt Kenya and is ready to take the gamble, "Manyora said.
