Uhuru opens up on 3 things done by DP Ruto's team that annoy him during meeting with Mt. Kenya leaders

Please stop it!

President Uhuru Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta, on 15 Nov 2019 came clean on a number of issues that annoy him and addressed critical issues facing his Jubilee party and Kenya at large during a meeting with leaders drawn fromMount Kenya region.

The meeting which was crafted in secret with invitations sent at the eleventh hour was a moment of reflection as the president sought to put his house in order and for the first time admitted that not all is well in the region.

During the meeting, the president revealed his displeasure with the constant nagging and pushing by regional leaders to endorse a successor.

“I am being pushed everyday as if the elections are in the next two months. I sometimes wonder if my community is keen to bury me while I am still alive,” he said in Gikuyu.

A number of Jubilee party leaders in the Tangatanga outfit allied to DP Ruto have on numerous occassions demanded that the President should publicly declare his political stand on whether he will support DP Ruto.

The President maintained that he intends to serve until his last day in office, adding that God knows the leader Kenya will get.

The unfolding events in Kenya’s political scene characterized with heated political statements have not escaped the attention of the President.

He expressed his disapppointment, stating that some of the statements leave him wondering why certain leaders were elected in the first place.

“I hear a lot of insults and political remarks from some of your leaders here and I wonder what they were elected to accomplish,” said Uhuru.

Deputy President William Rut has been leading in the attack, with most of his statements targetting former Prime minister Raila Odinga.

With more than two years to the next general elections, 2022 succession politics are already making headlines and dominating discussions.

The president expressed his displeasure at the early campaigns that have seen a host of Jubilee party MPs accompany Deputy President William Ruto on rallies across the country.
