Reprieve for Raila as international firm withdraws case against him

The case was filed in April 2018

According to the Standard, the firm that supplied poll election equipment to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) asked the Court to close the file as it did not want to pursue the case further.

In the suit, the company that has since changed its name to Idemia Identity and Security France, alongside its top level managers; Laurent Lambert, Alex Lambert and Bavly Farag in April sued the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Junet Mohamed and ODM communication manager Phillip Etale, blocking them from making further rigging claims against it.

The firm said that claims by the NASA leaders were lies that had allegedly hurt its reputation and its business was in jeopardy out of the claims by the leaders.
