President Uhuru sent his condolences message to CS Amina Mohammed's family after a tragic loss.

President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a message of condolence to the family of Education Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed who lost her mother-in-law.

The late Begum Shameem Ahmed who passed on after a short illness.

In his message, President Kenyatta delineated Mama Shameem Ahmed as a great woman and an esteemed citizen who served the country with distinction.

Mama Shameem Ahmed was also described by the President as one of the pioneer women in public service who championed for the education of the girl child.

President Kenyatta stated: “Indeed Begum Shameem Ahmed was one of the most distinguished ladies of her time. She was a matriarch, completely devoted to her family and the nation.”

He further added: “She was one of the women pioneers in public service, especially education. She believed that no girl should be left behind and that girls have the ability to change the world.”

Notably, President Kenyatta stated that Mama Shameem’s achievements were seen in the way she raised her family in love, adding that many will assuredly miss her wise counsel and guidance.
