Larry’s lawyer reveals whether the TV personality is going behind bars or not

Last year, an audio recording surfaced online exposing Cyprian Nyakundi and his then side-kick Xtian Dela as crooks for trying to extort 50 Million Kshs from Bidco to kill an incriminatory story.

Larry Madowo goes to jail?

After this expose, Larry Madowo commented that Cyprian is often paid to tarnish the names of brands.

A comment that irked the blogger who gave him an ultimatum of either apologising for his comments or  Nyakundi files a lawsuit. In a blog post, Cyprian claimed that the TV personality had defamed him and sought “damages for emotional torture and the ridicule and attacks he got after Larry got personal on him’”

This was a rather ironic statement for someone who seems to get a kick out of slanderous articles that often lead to the emotional torture of his subjects after they are exposed to a barrage of insults and ridicule online.

Larry condescendingly dismissed Nyakundi’s request for an apology and claimed that the blogger could not afford to sue him.

But as it turns out, Cyprian could and Larry was forced to seek the services of a lawyer to handle his case.

Larry revealed that he had sought the services of experienced lawyer Donald Kipkorir “One of Kenya's finest lawyers Donald Kipkorir and his esteemed firm KTK Advocates represent me in this frivolous suit by an infamous blogger.” Larry wrote.

Nyakundi on the other hand hired the services of green lawyer Ann Wambui from Nderu Ngaruni & Co. Advocates, to represent him in the case against Larry Madowo.

The battle liens were drawn and the first hearing took place on January 25th 2016.

A few months after the hearing, the hashtag #madowogoingtojail trended online with ‏@muneneofficial tweeting “FACT: Larry Madowo lost defamation case to Cyprian Nyakundi. His socialite lawyer Donald Kipkorir couldn't help him. #MadowoGoingToJail”

But despite the hashtag Larry remains unmoved and tweeted that he has utter confidence in Donald Kipkorir’s skills. “I have complete faith in my lawyer @DonaldBKipkorir and the legal system to protect my free speech rights. Also, I'm not going to jail.”

His lawyer also confirmed this by tweeting “Larry Madowo is my client and is not going to any jail. People need to read the ruling of the Magistrate. #MadowoGoingToJail
