I am fighting to get my life back - Njambi Koikai’s passionate appeal to Kenyans from hospital bed

The Trend’s Njambi Koikai aka Fayah Mama needs your help to keep the fire burning.

The money will clear another bill incurred from extra treatment, medication and post-surgery therapy.

Here is the passionate appeal the ailing panelist sent from her hospital bed:

“Dear Friends,

Thanks to your generous support, I successfully received surgery for my thoracic endometriosis in Atlanta, US on 1st March 2018, from some of the best surgeons in the world. Initially, it was anticipated that I would leave the hospital within three days of receiving surgery. However, due to several complications especially caused by the delicate state of my lungs, I required intensive care which meant I was hospitalised for 21 days. Your generous contribution in my initial fundraiser raised 8.9million shillings (USD $89 000), which covered the cost of the surgery, travelling and lodging. The extra treatment, medication and post-surgery therapy has raised the bill by an additional 7.6million shillings (USD $76 000 or GBP £54 000). I cannot say it enough or more sincerely, your response to my initial fundraiser was tremendous, and may you all be blessed abundantly. Having no health insurance, the initial funds raised were exhausted due to the long hospitalisation. I am therefore running a second round of fundraising to help settle the outstanding bill amounting to 7.6 million shillings (USD $76 000). I urgently require your help to settle this bill, and any amount that you contribute will go a long way in helping me to finally have my life back.

With the generous support of friends, family, and goodwill donors, I am fighting to get my life back and I look forward to dedicating my life to raising awareness about endometriosis and most importantly, giving hope to those who, just like me, cannot afford the costly medical treatment required. Together we can remind everyone suffering from endometriosis that they too can have their life back... Please use Paybill number 490681 to contribute, or click the link on my bio to contribute on gofundme. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

With love and gratitude,

Njambi.”
