I meant I will sign not resign - ODM's Edwin Sifuna hilarious response after losing bet to Thirdway Alliance

ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna on Friday gave a hilarious response while disowning a political bet he had made, promising to resign if the Thirdway Alliance attained the one million signatures needed to kickstart a referendum.

A day after IEBC confirmed that Thirdway Alliance had raised over 1.2 million signatures, Sifuna disowned the bet even denying ever being at KBC TV studios where the promise was made.

The ODM Secretary General said he was convinced that the party, which is led by Ekuru Aukot was supported by unknown forces to achieve the resource-intensive signature collection process.

I will resign as ODM Secretary General

It wasn't me. I was misquoted. I don't recall. I said re-sign not resign. I would rather die. I've never been on KBC I don't know who Third Way are Take your pick! This is a WIND ASSISTED and pyrhic "victory" but all the best to @EAukot @fokango and their #PunguzaMizigoBill2019,” the ODM boss said on Friday morning.

The response appeared to make fun of responses when politicians are caught up in hard political situations as it was a far cry from the confidence Sifuna had displayed in 2017.

We are talking about your capacity, or lack thereof. You cannot lead on anything. Thirdway Alliance is a nuisance. I can guarantee you and I can bet here; I want to say in front of this country, I will resign as Secretary General of ODM. I have said on national TV because I know who they are,” Sifuna had said on a live TV interview.
