Jimi Wanjigi announces next move after Obituary on Daily Nation

Wanjigi to take on Daily Nation after obituary

Speaking to CNN, Mr. Wanjigi stated that he was considering taking legal action against the national paper.

He added that the death announcement was an outright threat to his life and the Daily Nation could have just conspired with the masterminds.

"It's a death promise. We are coming for you, we assure you we are going to finish you,” he told CNN.

The business man further noted:"I see the Nation Media as being part of a conspiracy of premeditated murder. I don't see which other way to see it”.

The obituary was announcing the death of one James Richard Wanjagi and carried a black and white photo of Mr. Wanjigi.

Despite the ‘spelling mistake’ on Wanjigi’s name which would make some question whether it was referring to the businessman, every other details including the names of the family members were that of Mr Wanjigi.

According to the obituary, Mr. Wanjigi died on January 30, 2018, after a failed armed robbery in Nairobi’s Karen Estate.

The announcement also acknowledges that the purported Wanjagi was a member of Kwacha Industries – a company owned by Mr. Wanjigi – before he met his death.

According to the paper, Mr. Wanjigi was buried on Tuesday, February 6, 2017, at 3 PM.
