Babu Owino defends Uhur's handshake with Raila, warns opponents to reveal their masters

Embakasi MP Babu Owino on Friday added his voice to politicians across the political divide who have defended President Uhuru Kenyatta over his partnership with ODM Leader Raila Odinga.

Owino said the unity between President Kenyatta and Odinga was inspired by God and that no man would come in between them.

He further warned those opposed to the handshake to tell the public whose interests they were pursuing.

“Let it be thus known that what God has brought together, no man can put asunder! The unity that Kenya is now enjoying is an act of God. Those opposing it and trying to take us backwards must tell us whose interests they are working for because it is not for Kenyans.”

“This kind of politics of hatred and division has reached its expiry date with wananchi. Kenyans no longer have time for 2022 politicians and their prophesies of doom,” the outspoken MP said.

Owino has previously been a harsh critic of President Kenyatta, and has been arrested on several occasions for making controversial statements against the head of state and members of the first family.

Other opposition MPs who have defended the resident included Homa Bay Women Rep Gladys Wanga, Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, ODM Chairman John Mbadi, among others.
