Maraga responds to claims that Government denied Supreme Court Judges security

This comes a few weeks after the driver of Deputy CJ Mwilu was shot along Ngong Road

According to CJ Maraga it is untrue that Supreme Court Judges have been denied extra security.

Through his Twitter handle, Maraga stated that the government has in fact enhanced the security of Supreme Court judges.

Maraga was responding to story published by Reuters News Agency claiming that the Kenyan Government had denied Supreme Court Judges Security.

"Our attention has been drawn to a report by Reutter’s news agency claiming that the Government has turned down a request by Supreme Court of Kenya for Extra Security for its Judges. The offices of the Chief Justice wishes to state that this reports is untrue. To the contrary, the Inspector General of Police has in fact enhanced Security of Supreme Court Judges. Kindle take note of this clarification” reads Maraga’s Statement.

This comes a few weeks after the driver of Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu was shot by unknown people along Ngong Road.
