Opposition chief Raila Odinga has come under heavy attack from fiery Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua who urged government officials to defy all orders issued by the former Prime Minister.

In a video posted on his Twitter page, the MP dismissed Odinga’s orders issued to government employees as 'annoying and shameful'.

Hii Kenya iko maajabu! Ati kiongozi upinzani anatoa order kwa wafanyi kazi wa Serikali! (There are a lot of surprises in Kenya, how can opposition leader issue orders to government employees!).

We are asking civil servants to ignore such orders. That fellow has no capacity to issue any order to anybody in government. Even if he does it in writing, just ignore” stated Gachagua.

He alleged that Odinga is an outsider who only gained access to the government through the backdoor, courtesy of the hand shake deal with Uhuru Kenyatta and as such he should keep quiet.

"Pretending that he can give orders in the country is an absurdity. We have a deputy and a President in the country, who is he to issue such orders?

"If you agree to follow such orders, whether stated or written, you are on your own," fired the Mathira lawmaker.

The lawmaker who is one of DP Ruto’s loyal allies stated that Odinga had effectively been dealt with and relegated to history after the humbling defeat in 2017 elections.

Huyu jamaa tulimaliza maneno yake kitambo na akafufuka wakati aliitwa na Uhuru Kenyatta (We had comprehensively dealt with the guy only for him to resurface after being invited by Uhuru Kenyatta)” he added.
